FAQs: The Cottage
What time can I arrive at the Cottage?
Access to the Cottage is granted from 9:30am until the commencement of the ceremony. Early access to the Cottage can be arranged for $200 per additional hour with 7.30am being the earliest arrival time.
Can I do a first look at the Cottage?
Absolutely! The Cottage is a beautiful setting for your first look and capturing pre-ceremony couples' portraits. You may also wish to move to the Chapel Gardens for additional portraits before your guests arrive.
Before finalising a first look with your photographer, please discuss the logistics with your coordinator. For example, family photos cannot be taken at the Cottage but can be arranged in the Chapel Gardens.
How many people can the Cottage hold?
The Cottage has a maximum capacity of 15 people at any time.
When do I need to exit the Cottage?
Access to the Cottage concludes when the ceremony begins. Please ensure all belongings are packed and returned to your car before departing for the ceremony. We recommend having your bridal party start this process an hour beforehand to ensure a smooth transition.
If leaving a car overnight, kindly move it to the main car park before the ceremony, as the Cottage parking area may be required the following morning—another great task for your bridal party!
For those without transport at the Cottage, please pack your belongings and place them on the verandah. Our team will relocate them to the Barn for collection at the end of the night. Once the ceremony begins, the Cottage will be closed for the remainder of the event.
Rest assured, our team will handle all cleaning after your departure.
Can I use Cottage during the reception?
Once the reception begins, a private room within the Cottage will be available upon request for the bridal party to freshen up or change clothes. Please note that access is limited to this designated room only and does not extend to the rest of the Cottage or its facilities. A member of the Inglewood team will escort you and provide access as needed.
The Cottage is not available for free-flowing use by any other guests after the reception opens, unless authorised by the General Manager and will incur a fee.
How will I be transported to ceremony space?
An Inglewood Estate staff member will chauffeur you to the ceremony space in our buggy, with pick-up from the Cottage. We’ll take a charming back route to the Chapel Gardens, and multiple trips are usually made to ensure everyone in the procession is accommodated. This service typically begins around 10 minutes before the ceremony starts. In the cooler months, we recommend bringing a cozy blanket to wrap yourself in. We will happily provide umbrellas in wet conditions.
If you’d prefer to arrive in a special car or arrange your own transport, you’re more than welcome to do so.
Can I stay overnight in the Cottage?
Overnight stays in the Cottage are not possible, however, there are plenty of accommodation options nearby, and we’d be happy to recommend some great places to stay. Let us know if you’d like further assistance!
Can infants sleep in the Cottage during the reception?
While it provides a comfortable space for getting ready and relaxing before the wedding, it is not equipped for overnight stays or infant sleeping arrangements. For safety and comfort, we recommend making alternative arrangements if you require a space for an infant to sleep. Let us know if you need any recommendations - we’re happy to help!
Can I have pets inside the Cottage?
No dogs or pets are permitted inside the Cottage.
Can I decorate the cottage (cultural purposes)?
You're more than welcome to decorate the Cottage for cultural purposes, such as a tea ceremony. However, we kindly ask that nothing is affixed to the surfaces, including windows, mirrors, and especially the plaster. This includes items like removable hooks, blu-tack, or sticky tape. Thank you for understanding!
Can I use the cooking facilities in the Cottage?
The cooking facilities in the Cottage are not available for use. However, catering for 8 guests is included in the hire fee, with the option to add catering for additional guests at an extra cost. Alternatively, you’re welcome to bring your own snacks if you’d like.
